Tropical moisture caused continuous showers and thunderstorms that produced 10 to 11 inches of rain on already saturated ground in a 6 to 8 hour period. This combination cauesed flooding in numerous subdivisions in North Charleston and Hanahan. Several mobile home parks had to be evacuated when water rose to heights of 5 feet in some neighborhoods, flooding cars and first floors of homes and businesses.
