Significant rainfall occurred across about the southeast half of Iowa early in the month as the remains of a tropical system moved across the area. The state had been quite dry, thus little flooding occurred. One of the heavier rainfall totals was 4.44 inches at Rathbun Dam. This resulted in some minor flooding in the lower Des Moines River basin. Damage was very minor from this flooding however.
