Three to nine inches of rain fell in a 36 hour period causing small rivers and streams to rise over their banks. Many roads were washed out and flooded. Some evacuations took place along small streams in portions of Franklin County. Towns in southern Franklin and southern Oxford Counties were especially hard hit as they were in the area of heaviest rain. Wilton, Jay, Farmington, Livermore, Canto, and Industry were some of the hardest hit towns.
