Heavy rain over the hilly terrain of central Missouri caused the St. Francis River to flood in the vicinity of Patterson. At Patterson, where flood stage is 16 feet, the river crested at 22.34 feet around 230 A.M. on the 8th. This resulted in minor to moderate flooding of low-lying areas. It was the highest crest at Patterson since May of 1997.
