A strong easterly push of low level moisture over eastern New Mexico interacted with an upper level trough ejecting out of the southern Rockies to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms over the eastern plains. Strong to severe thunderstorms erupted along the dryline over the high plains and moved southeast into eastern New Mexico.
