Showers and thunderstorms preceding a cold front caused flash flooding in eastern New Castle County overnight on the 20th. Rainfall amounts since the early morning on the 20th averaged two to three inches in the county. The residual effect of the onshore flow and higher spring astronomical tides associated with the new moon caused minor tidal flooding along the coast and into Delaware Bay and the tidal Delaware River with the evening and overnight high tide cycle on the 20th.
