Thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening of the 21st produced damaging wind, hail up to 1 1/4 inches in diameter, and flash flooding.Thunderstorm winds downed trees in Lynch Station, trees in the City of Martinsville damaging a house, and downed large tree limbs and caused crop damage to several fields of tabacco plants in Pittsville. Thunderstorm rains caused significant flash flooding in Martinsville. Flood waters washed out one bridge on Smith Lake Road, flooded 25 roads, with up to 4
