One to two inches rain fell in the Orchard Mesa and Clifton areas within a one hour period, which resulted in widespread street flooding. Many residences were also flooded with at least several inches of water inside the dwellings. The largest measured rainfall amount from the storm was 2.01 inches in Clifton.

A strong thunderstorm over the town of New Castle produced very heavy rain and small hail. This storm was part of a line of storms that were moving slowly south through west-central Colorado. Up to one inch of rain fell in less than 20 minutes.
