A line of strong thunderstorms extending to the east from Barstow, moved slowly to the south producing heavy rain and gusty winds across the San Bernardino County desert. Travel along Interstates 15 and 40 were significantly affected as heavy rain reduced visibility to near zero in some spots and runoff covered sections of road.
