Heavy rain the previous week filled the Big Horn River drainage basin with water. At the same time, recent warm temperatures were melting snow in the Greybull River drainage and additional thunderstorms occurred. The combination of the high water on both rivers led to some minor river flooding near their confluence south of the town of Greybull. Flood waters upstream of the confluence threatened to flow across US Highway 16/20 south of Greybull. Some sandbagging was needed to prevent damage to a
