Thunderstorms that developed over eastern Kansas tracked eastward across west-central Missouri on the evening of August 7. The storms produced damaging winds, with gusts estimated at up to 70 mph. Local rainfall amounts of over 2 inches were reported across eastern Lafayette County, into Saline and Pettis Counties. The NWS co-op observer in Concordia recorded 3.74 inches of rainfall from this event.
