An upper level disturbance and associated surface low pressure moved from the southern Plains northeastward toward the Tennessee and lower Ohio valleys Sunday July 5th. Isolated slow moving thunderstorms developed across south-central Kentucky, the worst of which fell in Simpson County. Several roads were closed and water rescues were performed.
