Strong thunderstorms developed quickly across central La Paz county during the early afternoon hours on July 17th, and they generated very heavy rainfall with peak rain rates in excess of 2 inches per hour. The heavy rain led to flooding and flash flooding which affected communities such as Bouse, as well as Highway 72 in the area between Bouse and Vicksburg.
