An upper-level trough developed along the central California coast and dropped south before moving inland over the high desert of southern California during the afternoon. This produced scattered showers and thunderstorms over the San Bernardino Mountains and high desert with some locally intense rainfall and small hail. Rainfall amounts were generally one-tenth to one-third of an inch with a few higher totals in Phelan (1.20 inches) and Antelope Creek (0.47 inches). Minor flooding was reported
