A cold front dropping slowly southward from the Upper Midwest interacted with a hot and humid airmass to trigger thunderstorms across north-central Illinois during the late afternoon and evening of June 10th. Damaging wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph and hail as large as golf balls were reported primarily along and north of a Canton to Minonk line.
