A warm front lifted north across western New York during the morning ushering in an extremely moist air mass. Showers and thunderstorms began to develop during the early afternoon hours. The slow moving thunderstorms dropped two to three inches of rain across the area however rainfall amounts of one- to one-and-a-half inches of rain in less than a half hour were received.
