Double barrel cold fronts helped trigger a series of showers and thunderstorms across southern New Jersey during the morning of the 15th. Thunderstorms that were accompanied by very heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of Salem, Gloucester, Atlantic and Ocean Counties. The flash flooding in Gloucester and Salem Counties was exacerbated because of the heavy rain and flooding that occurred just the previous morning.
