A moist airmass coupled with daytime heating allowed widely scattered thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon of the 19th. A few thunderstorms produced torrential downpours, leading to localized flash flooding. Doppler radar estimates reached 3 to 4 inches where the flash flooding occurred.
