A slow moving warm front lifting north from the Ohio Valley was the catalyst for a series torrential rain producing thunderstorms across portions of central New York. Localized rain amounts of 2 to 3 inches contributed to a narrow corridor of urban flooding between Ithaca and Cortland. Estimated damages totaled several hundred thousand dollars.
