A warm front drifted northeast across Western New York during the wee hours of the morning and was the focus for a band of moderate showers and embedded thunderstorms. These storms were very slow moving and remain across northern Chautauqua for a few hours. Rainfall reports as high as 5.76 inches were recorded but much of the region received a good four to five inches. Roads quickly became impassable.
