A cluster of thunderstorms over central Patrick County remained nearly stationary for several hours producing intense rainfall over several small watersheds in the upper Dan River basin. Dual-Pol radar estimated over 4 inches from the storm and Busted Rock #1 IFLOWS gage located near Talbott Reservoir measured a total of 5.57 of which 3.79��� fell in a 3-hour period between 600 and 900 PM EDT (22z-01z).
