Abundant moisture was drawn north across the region in advance of a slow moving cold front. Training showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rain developed in advance of the front during the evening of the 21st and persisted across southern portions of Piscataquis county through the evening. Rainfall totals of up to around 5.00 inches occurred across portions of southern Piscataquis county through the evening hours of the 21st.
