Showers and thunderstorms developed along the leading edge of a well-defined shortwave moving from Southern Ontario into Western New York. The storms moved across southern Erie county and rapidly intensified. Instantaneous rainfall rates of four to six inches and hour were observed on radar. Actual measure amounts were around two inches, however than rain fell in less than a half hour!
