Unseasonable warmth and rich Gulf moisture collided with an approaching surface low pressure system and cold front to produce several lines of strong to severe thunderstorms across central Kentucky. Damaging winds was the main threat, but some hail was also reported. Intense torrential rainfall also fell which produced localized flooding issues. Taylor County received some of the worst damage as a series of microbursts produced pockets of 100 mph winds in a small area about 5 miles south of Camp
