Flash Flood — Transylvania, NC

A strong, moist southerly flow up the Blue Ridge escarpment resulted in scattered to numerous showers throughout the 2nd, and by the early morning hours of the 3rd, rainfall of 1.5 to 3 inches had fallen across the Blue Ridge. A line of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms then moved across the area in assocation with a cold front during the morning of the 3rd, and produced another 1.5 to 2 inches in just a couple of hours.
