During the afternoon, multi-cell thunderstorm clusters developed along a warm front that was oriented from west to east. Surface dew points near and south of the front were in the lower 70's, which contributed to strong instability. Isolated damaging winds accompanied the strongest storms. A secondary line of storms formed later in the evening, with a bowing line moving through the area into the early morning hours of the 12th.
