Thunderstorms developed ahead of a slow-moving cold front during the afternoon of the 12th. An organized outflow boundary pushed southward away from these storms and became the focus for additional thunderstorm development during the evening and overnight hours as the low level jet developed over far eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
