Flash Flood — Mitchell, GA

A tropical airmass was in place across the area with precipitable water values well over 2 inches. A weak area of low pressure was located across the northeast Gulf coast. Steering flow was relatively light, and an afternoon thunderstorm developed right over the city of Camilla, dumping near 5 inches of rain in just a 2 hour period. Flash flooding occurred across the city.
