During the late afternoon and evening hours, a complex of thunderstorms produced damaging winds and isolated flash flooding across southwestern Kentucky. These storms produced sporadic wind damage all the way from the Mississippi River to Elkton, Kentucky. This was the third straight day of widespread thunderstorms, so heavy rainfall resulted in isolated flooding in those areas already hit hard by recent heavy rain. A mid-level shortwave trough moved through the Great Lakes region during the day
