Southeast surface flow was tapping Gulf moisture while a weak trough over Southern California helped to draw up Baja moisture aloft. This created a very moist atmosphere with slow storm motion which produced flash flooding at Leasburg Dam State Park and around La Union. Thunderstorm wind damage was also reported in Anthony.
