A large area of elevated convection developed over northern Oklahoma and moved northeast over South Central Kansas during the early morning hours of August 8th, 2016. The heavy rainfall associated with the storm led to flash flooding across Sedgwick county, Kansas including West Wichita. The heavy rainfall stranded or stalled cars across West Wichita.
