Flash Flood — Henry, IL

Aug 30, 2016

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front that dropped southward into the area August 30th. A warm and humid air mass was in place that helped to produce these showers and thunderstorms. The stronger showers and thunderstorms were capable of producing very heavy rainfall in a short period of time with some areas picking up a half an inch of rain in under 20 minutes. This lead to flash flooding in the city of Geneseo in Henry County.
