Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches were common across southwest Wisconsin during the afternoon of September 9th. This rain fell fast enough and on soils that were already saturated and produced some flash flooding. A boulder came down a bluff near Avalanche (Vernon County) and landed on County Highway S. Debris from other slides hit a car near De Soto (Crawford County) and a tree was pushed onto State Highway 35 near Ferryville (Crawford County).
