On the evening of August 26, 2016 a line of strong storms formed in northeastern Kansas, and then moved into northwestern Missouri. Later in the evening storms continued to train over northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri, which brought impressive flooding to portions of the Kansas City metro area late in the evening.
