An area of low pressure over North Carolina on the 23rd strengthened and moved northeast to a location just off the New Jersey Coastline on the morning of the 24th. With a very tight pressure gradient, winds increased ahead of the storm reaching in excess of 50 mph that led to some damage reports. A few periods of heavy rainfall occurred.
