An east west oriented atmospheric river impacted San Diego County and northern Baja on the 27th and 28th of February, resulting in a prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain. Rainfall totals of 6-9 inches along the coastal slopes, 3-5 inches in the valleys and 2-4 inches in coastal areas were reported in San Diego County, all within a 24 hour period.
