A band of showers and thunderstorms developed in an east-west oriented line in the late afternoon and overnight hours across northern Vermont from Chittenden County into Lamoille and Washington Counties. Rainfall amounts of two to three inches in just a few hours on saturated soils from previous June rainfall caused flash flooding.
