A cold front crossing the area during the afternoon and evening produced numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which resulted in flash flooding across parts of the Lower Hudson Valley and New York City. These storms developed in an environment with precipitable water values of around 2 inches. Rainfall totals ranged from 1-3 inches across the area, with 2.45 reported by a trained spotter in Middletown, NY.
