An upper-level disturbance interacted with a very moist atmosphere on July 1, generating several rounds of thunderstorms across areas mainly along and north of I-90. These storms resulted in torrential rainfall and flash flooding in portions of Herkimer, Fulton, Warren, Washington, and Rensselaer Counties.
