Multi-cellular convection developed ahead of an approaching cold front over Central North Carolina. A few thunderstorms became severe during the afternoon and evening, producing scattered wind damage. During the early morning hours of the 20th, the event morphed into more of a heavy rain and flash flooding threat, where isolated flash flooding developed within the convection ahead of the front.
