Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across portions of La Paz County during the morning hours on August 3rd. Some of the stronger storms generated locally heavy rains with peak rain rates in excess of one inch per hour. The heavy rains led to an episode of flash flooding near the town of Quartzsite during the middle of the morning. Flash flooding caused Highway 95 to become impassable to cars near milepost 112. The flooding resulted in the issuance of a Flash Flood Warning.
