Scattered thunderstorms developed across far northern Maricopa County during the late afternoon hours on August 10th and some of the stronger storms affected the area around the town of Wickenburg. The storms brought gusty and damaging winds estimated to be in excess of 60 mph; the winds were sufficient to down a number of 40 foot tall pine trees. In addition, they produced locally heavy rain which resulted in flash flooding and road closures along highway 60 in Wickenburg. Flash flood warnings
