Thunderstorms developed across the central portion of La Paz County during the evening hours on September 8th, and some of the stronger storms produced very heavy rainfall with peak rain rates approaching 2 inches per hour. The intense rainfall led to an episode of flash flooding to the east of the town of Quartzsite and north of the Interstate 10 corridor.
