A nearly stationary frontal band hung over parts of the Bay Area bringing intense rainfall for several hours. The hardest hit areas were the coastal sections of Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. Rainfall amounts in some of these areas topped over 3 during Friday January 25th.

Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore, CA · Dec 28, 2023

Very high surf caused by swell from north Pacific lows led to coastal flooding and damage across the Pacific coast of the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast. The Bodega Bay buoy reported a significant wave height of 28 ft at 4:20 AM.
