Several rounds of widespread heavy rainfall tracked northeast across western Kentucky. These rounds of heavy rain produced localized flooding of roads, along with longer-term flooding along creeks and tributaries of the Ohio River. In the wake of a surface cold front, a persistent southwest flow of moist air aloft generated multiple rounds of widespread rain.
