A trough of low pressure swept in from the west. It was accompanied by a plume of subtropical moisture and a weak Pacific cold front. Moderate rain began before day break on the 22nd and continued through most of the day in the Inland Empire and along the coastal slopes. Peak rain amounts were around 3 inches along the coastal slopes of the San Bernardino County Mountains.
