Remnants of a mesoscale convective system (MCS) that developed during the early morning hours on June 7th over Eastern Oklahoma, migrated into Southeast Oklahoma, portions of Southwest Arkansas, and into extreme Northeast Texas during the afternoon hours, along a weak shortwave trough aloft that drifted south over these areas along the eastern periphery of an upper level ridge over the Southern Plains. Mesoscale boundaries from these earlier storms allowed for scattered showers and thunderstorms
