A very warm and wet atmospheric river approached the west coast of the CONUS on the 5th, which brought gusty winds and significant rains to the Sierra and western Nevada the 6th through the 7th. In the foothills of western Nevada, rainfall amounts ranged from about a third of an inch to as much as three-quarters of an inch. The valleys of the basin and range country in western Nevada saw generally less than half an inch, but the higher elevations received up to an inch or more.
