A low pressure center gathered strength off the mid-Atlantic coast and became a powerful ocean storm. This storm spread snow and winds across Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and portions of southeast Massachusetts. In addition, some minor coastal flooding occurred along Cape Cod. ||Dozens of minor accidents occurred on the Cape, resulting in a brief closure of the Sagamore Bridge over Cape Cod Canal.
