A stationary front continued to linger in the vicinity of the Mason-Dixon Line. A marked temperature contrast existed across the front, with values in the 50s over northwestern Pennsylvania and numbers well into the 80s over northern West Virginia. This boundary helped to produce more severe weather during the afternoon and evening hours. Storms with hail larger than quarters and downed trees were reported, along with isolated flooding.
